Sharing Experiences
P.A. Seminar

The Thursday night Personal Advisor Seminar was well attended, and all agreed that this should be a regular event.  The seminar not only helped to introduce the program to prospective volunteers, but reinforced past training for current P.A.s.  Jim Huffman did a fine job facilitating the event, and a fair amount of open discussion and shared experiences made the 3-hour event move quickly.  An important side benefit is a fine presentation book that thoroughly covered the following topics:

1. The Program
Contacts, Schedules, About SHIP, 7 Critical Steps, and Jim's famous           acronym, P.L.E.A.S.E.

2. The Personal Advisor
Expectations, Guidelines, Duties and Routine, Progression Goals

3. Resources
Staff Meetings, Employment, Special Needs, Info Link of Orange County

4. The Guest Book
Policy Agreement, Orientation Checklist, Voice Mail Instructions

5. Forms
Samples of forms most commonly used by Guests and Personal Advisors

We have put the entire book to this web site for all to reference.  Simply click on the following link to go to the book's table of contents:
